This week is all about angles!  Bring your protractor and your compass so that you can get used to using them.  Look at your class page so that you can keep up with your homework assignment and what we will be doing the next day.

Remember:

Test Corrections are due Friday (1st block: Monday).  After Friday, I will keep the test review notes online and remove the other notes from the first unit.

My last SERT training is Tuesday.  After this class is complete, I will be available Tuesday/Thursday after school until 4:15.

Thank you to my Honors class for rolling with the day.  You were well-behaved when I got called out for SERT.  I cannot thank you enough!  It means a lot to me that I do not have to worry about you when I am called out of the classroom.

To all students: Please remember to STUDY tonight.  The first 5 minutes of class tomorrow will be reserved for final questions.  You do not need to bring your book tomorrow.

Week of Jan 19 – 22

Published by Bradley under GeoHonSp10, GeoStdSp10

This week is going to be a little crazy for all of us.  Tuesday and Wednesday, you may be pulled out of first/second block for Junior Writing practice/Assembly.  We also have our first test on Thursday.

SO, if you are in my first block class, Tuesday and Wednesday classes will be the same.  This way, we can wrap-up new material and begin our test review on the day you are not at one of the previous activities.  If you are here both days, you will work solely on the test review on Wednesday.  To practice for the test, I have uploaded a Jeopardy .pdf for you here.  Click the link to open the game.  Practice the problems.  We will take 5-10 minutes before the test to answer any final questions you may have.

As we begin our study of Geometry, please keep in mind the resources available to you for extra help:
1. Math Lab – every morning at 7:30 you can go to the math lab for extra help.
2. Tutoring – look at the calendar to see which days I am going to stay after school for tutoring. I am in room 202.
3. Links on the Webpage – the links on the homepage may also be able to help clarify questions you have.

Class today went well.  Thank you for all of your comments on the website!  As you can see, even though we had a lot of strange “error messages,” your comments still went through.  Every time you post a comment, I have to approve it before it will show up.

Per your suggestions, I have added a links widget to my website.  They are listed under Blogroll (under the calender on the right-hand side of the page).  You can leave comments about each link and you should also be able to rate them.  If you find a good link that you want me to add to the list, leave me a comment on your class webpage.

Thank you as well for all of your Engrade messages!  I am going to include a link (http://www.myersbriggs.org/my-mbti-personality-type/mbti-basics/) if you would like to read more about your Meyers-Briggs Personality Type Indicator results.

On Monday we will be discussing note-taking techniques that will help you be successful in Geometry. Be prepared to discuss how you take notes.

Welcome Back Students!

Published by Bradley under GeoHonSp10, GeoStdSp10

First, navigate the class website.

1. In the upper-right-hand corner of the screen, you will see your class name (Geometry Standard or Geometry Honors).

2. Click on this button to open your class webpage.

3. Browse the class website.  You should open the class webpate from the homepage, see class assignments for the week, and open class notes.

4. Look at the page and let me know if there is anything that needs to be added/changed.

5. When you are sure that you are able to navigate the page, leave me a comment.  Make sure your name is the first two letters of your first name and the first two letters of your last name put together, like this: RoBr.

Then, register with Engrade.

1. Make sure you have an email account (gmail is free).

2. Get your Engrade passcode from Mrs. Bradley.

3. Go to http://www.engrade.com/home-students.php and click on the “Sign Up” button if you do not already have an Engrade account.

4. Enter your Engrade passcode to begin the registration process.

5. After you sign up on Engrade, update your gradesheet with your first 3 grades.

Finally, take the Myers-Briggs Personality Type Test.  By answering every question, you will be able to identify your personality type.  This well help me understand how you will best be able to learn.

1. Go to the following link to take the test: http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/JTypes2.asp

2. When you get your personality type, send me a message on Engrade with your personality type.

It is important to remember that this test does not define you, it simply tries to classify your personality.  Also remember that your personality can change over time.  It will be interesting to take the test again in May and see if your classification changes.
